Police and ambulance rush to incident on Northam Bridge

Emergency services rushed to a concern for welfare incident in Southampton this morning.

Police and the ambulance service were called to Northam Bridge just after 8am this morning.

The man was taken into the care of the ambulance service.

A police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 8.04am this morning to concerns for the welfare of a man on Northam Bridge, Southampton.

"Officers attended, and the man has been taken into the care of the ambulance service."

A lane restriction was in place while officers dealt with the incident, but it has now been cleared.
