Thousands of cruise passengers are expected to pass through Southampton this weekend as six cruise ships are scheduled to visit the city this weekend.

On Friday, July 24, Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas is due to arrive at 5.45am before departing at 5pm.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines' Borealis will also call at the port from 6am until 5pm.

Saturday, July 25, will see two more cruise ships arrive.

P&O Cruises' Iona is scheduled from 6.15am to 5pm, while MSC Cruises' MSC Virtuosa will dock at from 6.15am before leaving at 6pm.

The weekend concludes on Sunday, July 26, with P&O Cruises' Arvia arriving at 5.30am and remaining until 5pm. Cunard's Queen Anne is also due in Southampton from 6.15am before departing at 4pm.

The busy schedule is expected to bring thousands of passengers and crew members to Southampton, with motorists advised to allow extra time for journeys near the city's docks.
