A new restaurant and café is bringing authentic Japanese cuisine to Hampshire.
Hand Roll Tokyo, a new sushi restaurant, launched in Chandler’s Ford on July 17, offering freshly made Japanese hand rolls and a variety of traditional and modern drinks.
Located on Winchester Road, opposite the Co-op, the new venue invites customers to dine in or take away.
It is run by Cammy Sum, 46, with help from her husband and son, who have lived in Chandler's Ford for four years.
She said: "It's real Japanese food, we want to bring traditional and real Japanese sushi to Chandler's Ford."
Cammy said she was "surprised" by the amount of support they have already received online, and how much people like sushi.
She said one of the highlights of the menu is the salmon avocado roll, made with all fresh ingredients.
Jon Baud, head of commercial agency at Trinity Rose Commercial, which assisted with the letting, said: "It's always rewarding to see an empty shop brought back into use, particularly by an independent business that adds something new to the local high street.
"Hand Roll Tokyo offers a genuinely different lunchtime option for Chandler's Ford, and we're delighted to have helped them secure their new premises."
The café serves made-to-order Japanese hand rolls along with a selection of drinks, including premium matcha beverages.
It occupies the former site of Emily Jones Hair Salon, now transformed into a "bright, modern space" designed for relaxation.
Hand Roll Tokyo is already established with a venue in Japan and is now bringing its fresh approach to the UK.

Mr Baud said: "I sampled the salmon hand roll with an iced matcha latte, and both were excellent.
"Everything is freshly prepared, beautifully presented, and offers a refreshing alternative to the usual grab-and-go lunch."
Hand Roll Tokyo aims to provide a welcoming atmosphere for customers to enjoy a taste of Japan, whether eating in or taking their food to go.
Cammy said they plan to keep experimenting with the menu and ingredients they serve, to bring the "best quality food" they can.
She said they have hopes to expand in the future, and that she would like to open another location in Romsey.
