A 22-year-old man from Hedge End has been charged with drink-driving after police stopped a car within minutes of receiving a report from a member of the public.
Officers were called at around 1.30am following concerns that a suspected drink-driver had left a pub in Warsash.
Police quickly located a white Audi A1 travelling along Bridge Road and brought the vehicle to a stop.
The driver, a 22-year-old man from Hedge End, allegedly refused to comply with a roadside breath test and was arrested.

After his arrest, he provided two evidential breath samples, both of which were over the legal alcohol limit.
He has since been charged with driving while over the prescribed alcohol limit.
Police thanked the person who reported the incident and used the case to remind motorists of the dangers of drink-driving.
