Emergency gas works have hit Botley High Street and drivers in the area are being warned to expect delays.
Botley Parish Council said SGN has begun emergency repairs at the junction of Holmesland Lane and Botley High Street (A334).
The works require three-way temporary traffic lights to be installed, although no confirmed completion date has been provided.
The council said it is in contact with the contractors and will provide updates.

The disruption comes on top of the ongoing closure of Woodhouse Lane in Hedge End, which is expected to add to congestion in the area.
Motorists are being urged to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra time for travel.
People using the Botley or the recreation ground have also been advised that access to the centre's car park will be more difficult while the traffic lights are in place.
Alternative parking is available at the Mortimer Road car park during the works.
