P&O Cruises' Iona among huge cruise ships in Southampton

Thousands of cruise passengers are expected to pass through Southampton this weekend as seven ships are scheduled to visit the city.

On Saturday, August 8, four vessels are due to arrive in Southampton.

MSC Virtuosa is scheduled to dock at 6.15am and depart at 4pm, while P&O Cruises’ Ventura will arrive at 6.15am before leaving at 4pm.

P&O Cruises’ Iona is also due to visit on Saturday, arriving at 6.30am and departing at 5pm. Sky Princess is expected from 6.30am until 4pm.

A further three ships are scheduled to call on Sunday, August 9.

Norwegian Sky will arrive at 4.30am and leave at 4pm, while Cunard’s Queen Anne is due from 5.45am until 4pm.

Seabourn Ovation will also visit, arriving at the Cowes Triangle at 7am before departing at 6pm.

The busy cruise schedule is expected to bring thousands of passengers and crew members to the city, with motorists warned to expect increased traffic.
