Fareham residents are being urged to put their bins out earlier than usual as waste crews prepare for rising temperatures.

Fareham Borough Council has announced changes to bin collection times from Wednesday to Friday with crews starting their rounds earlier to help protect them from the heat.

A council spokesperson said: "With temperatures set to rise, our waste collection crews will be starting their rounds earlier than usual from Wednesday 12 August to Friday 14 August to help keep them safe in the heat."

Residents have been asked to make sure their bins are out by 5.30am on collection day.

The council said it would be even better for residents to put their bins out the evening before.

The changes are temporary and are being introduced because of the expected hot weather.

Residents have also been asked to monitor the council’s social media channels for any further updates to collection arrangements.
