A speed watch group has recorded dozens of vehicles exceeding the speed limit during an evening session in Chandler's Ford.
The group carried out a session on Hursley Road on Monday evening following local complaints about speeding during the evening.
Between 6pm and 7pm, volunteers recorded 44 vehicles travelling at 35mph or more in the 30mph zone.
Seven of those vehicles were recorded travelling above 40mph, with the highest speed reaching 48mph.
The group said it had so far recorded 178 vehicles travelling at 35mph or more across Chandler's Ford this month.
That compares with a total of 135 vehicles recorded during August last year.
A spokesperson for the speed watch group said: "It’s a significant increase, and we still have further sessions to go."
The group said the latest session was carried out in response to concerns raised by Chandler's Ford residents about speeding during the evening.
