Hampshire County Council has submitted plans for external works at Wyvern Technology College on Botley Road, Fair Oak.
The consultation proposal would see a play area created on grass currently used for informal play, alongside a replacement modular classroom.
Planning documents say the modular unit will be adapted to provide a double-classroom specialist base for up to nine pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition from April 2027.

The proposed play area would include 219 square metres of rubber crumb and artificial grass surfacing.
No trees would be removed, while a strip of grassland next to Botley Road would receive new low groundcover, wildflower and hedge planting to improve its habitat value.
The plans also include new fencing to provide safety, security and privacy.
The consultation runs until September 17, with a statutory decision date of September 14.
