Bursledon and Swanwick drivers face a series of roadworks and traffic controls across key routes over the coming weeks.
The disruption will begin on Bridge Road, where Southern Water is due to carry out work with temporary traffic signals in place.
The restriction is scheduled to run from September 28 to September 29.
Further disruption will follow in October, with Providence Hill, Portsmouth Road and Dodwell Lane all set to be affected at the same time.
Hampshire County Council has granted traffic restrictions on the three roads from 7.30pm on Monday, October 5, until 6am on Friday, October 16.
Temporary traffic signals will be used on Providence Hill, Portsmouth Road and Dodwell Lane while drainage repairs are carried out.
The works involve repairs to existing drainage systems, ditches and ponds, and significant tailbacks are likely.
Yellow warning signs will be installed to inform drivers when the works are taking place.
Hampshire County Council has warned motorists that the work may not necessarily begin on the first date listed, but will be carried out during the period shown on roadside signs.

The restrictions could create difficult journeys for motorists travelling between Bursledon, Swanwick and surrounding areas, with several routes affected during the October works.
Providence Hill and Portsmouth Road are important routes through the area, while Dodwell Lane is a busy road linking Hedge End and Bursledon.
The October restrictions are scheduled to operate overnight, from 7.30pm until 6am, potentially limiting the impact on daytime traffic but affecting evening and early morning journeys.
Bridge Road will be affected separately at the end of September, with the Southern Water works taking place under temporary traffic signals.
Drivers are being urged to allow extra time for their journeys and be prepared for delays while the restrictions are in place.
The Bridge Road works are due to finish on September 29 before the larger programme of drainage repairs begins on Providence Hill, Portsmouth Road and Dodwell Lane on October 5.
The October restrictions are currently scheduled to be lifted by 6am on October 16.
