A Southampton motorist has been banned from driving after being caught speeding at 57mph on the M27.
Michael Ling, 39, of Woodthorpe Gardens, Sarisbury Green, admitted exceeding a temporary 50mph speed limit on five occasions near Junction 3 of the motorway over five days in 2025.
Southampton Magistrates' Court heard that Ling was driving a BMW when he was caught travelling at 71mph on September 27, 71mph and 57mph on September 29, 76mph on September 30 and 61mph on October 1.

Although some of the speeds were below the national speed limit usually in force on motorways, the stretch of the M27 was subject to a temporary 50mph restriction under a local traffic order.
Ling pleaded guilty to all five offences on August 13, and he was disqualified from driving for six months.
He must also pay a £992 fine and £130 in court costs.
