In the Dock - Latest cases from Southampton Magistrates' Court

JACK COOPER, 27, of Chapel Lane, Langley; DARREN COOPER, 46, of Fernside Road, Poole; and BILLY ROSS, 21, of The Square, Fawley. All pleaded guilty to assault occassioning actual bodily harm against the same person in Hythe on June 15, 2024. All given 18-month community orders. Jack Cooper was told to abstain from alcohol for 120 days, and complete 30 days of rehabilitation activities as well as 100 hours of unpaid work. Darren Cooper was told to complete 20 days of rehabilitation activities and 100 hours of unpaid work. Ross was told to abstain from alcohol for 120 days and complete 20 days of rehabilitation activities. All must pay £150 in compensation and £85 in costs, while Darren Cooper and Ross must also pay a £114 victim surcharge.

LENNY SPOTTINWOOD, 21, of Winchester Road, Romsey, was found guilty of driving without insurance after being behind the wheel of a Volkswagen on Kanes Hill in Southampton on April 6, 2024. Adjourned until the next hearing on September 16.

YASIR ALI, 40, of Oakley ROad, Southampton, was found guilty of driving without insurance after being behind the wheel of a Nissan on Passfield Avenue, Eastleigh on April 19, 2025. Fined £276, given six penalty points, and ordered to pay costs of £400 and a £110 victim surcharge.

JAMIE FOLEY, 40, of Millbrook Road, Southampton, pleaded guilty to two charges of shoplifting after stealing meat products and Red Bull valued at £70 from Tesco in Southampton on March 2, and £285 of clothing from Urban Outfitters in Southampton on December 21, 2025. Remanded on unconditional bail ahead of next hearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court on October 15.

RICHARD WILLIAMS, 58, of Knightcrest Park, Everton, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen for analysis in Everton on May 20. Disqualified from driving for 18 months, fined £200, and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £80 victim surcharge.

CHARLES HAMILTON, 20, of Salisbury Road, Totton, pleaded guilty to possession of a Class B drug, cannabis, with the intent to supply in Totton on November 4, 2024. Also admitted acquiring, using or possessing criminal property in Totton on the same day after having £4,085 in cash. Remanded on unconditional bail ahead of the next hearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court on October 16.
