The existing three commercial units facing West Street would be retained, while the new homes would be built within the rear portion of the site. The applicant says the scheme would make efficient use of underused land in the town centre.
The development would be car-free, with cycle storage provided for each property.
The property at 160 West Street forms part of a locally listed historic terrace, with the Grade II* Church of the Holy Trinity nearby. The proposals have been designed as single-storey buildings behind the existing frontage.
