A hospitality technology company is marking its fifth anniversary after rapid growth.
Southampton-based Labl.it, which started as an idea on a Post-it note during lockdown, now supports more than 4,000 commercial kitchens across the UK with its digital food labelling technology.
Founded in 2021 by Kyle Wilks, Rhys Wilks and Sean Larsen, Labl.it has grown its customer base by more than 60 per cent in the past year and expanded its team by 40 per cent.

Kyle Wilks, co-founder and chief executive of Labl.it, said: "When we first came up with the idea for Labl.it during lockdown, we never imagined that five years later our technology would be used in more than 4,000 kitchens across the UK.
"Having worked in hospitality ourselves, we knew the challenges kitchen teams faced with food labelling and wanted to develop something that would genuinely make their jobs easier.
"We’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come, and that wouldn’t have been possible without our team and customers, whose feedback has helped shape the technology over the years.
"We’re excited to see what the next five years bring."
The company has expanded into larger headquarters at Southampton Science Park to support its continued growth.
Since its launch Labl.it has introduced new features including expiry alerts, wastage reporting and multi-site dashboards.
Casa Brasil, which operates restaurants in Southampton and Portsmouth, has been using the technology since shortly after Labl.it launched and is the company's longest-standing active customer.
To mark the anniversary, the Labl.it team gathered at their headquarters for a celebration, which included a custom cake featuring an edible replica of their labelling device.
The company is also preparing to launch TempLog in early 2027.
This new temperature-monitoring system will allow commercial kitchens to manage both food labelling and temperature checks through a single connected platform.
Labl.it has received 10 industry awards since its launch, including Most Innovative Business and Tech SME of the Year in 2026.
The company continues to focus on making food safety processes simpler and reduce administrative tasks in commercial kitchens.
