SHE blows kisses to the sky every day so her mummy can catch them.

That is how the two-year-old daughter of Hollie Green is coming to terms with her mother’s death.

For the first time members of Hollie’s family have spoken of their heartache of their loss, as her former boyfriend Daniel Gibbons awaits trial charged with her murder.

Hollie’s mum Teresa Green described her daughter as “perfect” and said the popular 21-year-old optician would live on through her daughter Ellie Mai.

Mum-of-seven Teresa said the close-knit family were still coming to terms with losing Hollie, who was found dead at her home in Taranto Road, Lordswood, in the early hours of August 31.

“She was simply perfect. You couldn’t be prouder of any daughter,” Teresa told the Daily Echo.

“She was really happy and would achieve anything she set out to achieve.”

“Losing her is like having a jigsaw with a piece missing. There will always be a hole in our lives, but we will make sure she still lives on through Ellie.”

The toddler is now being brought up by Teresa and her husband Steve at their home in Lordshill alongside Hollie’s youngest brothers and sisters Millie, 14, Ellis, 13 and Braden, 10.

Teresa said: “We have been quite open with her. She understands that her mummy is in a special place and is being looked after by Hollie’s granddad who passed away recently.

“She blows kisses to her everyday and knows that her mummy is looking down and catches them.”

Messages of condolences have flooded into Teresa and Steve’s home with hundreds of cards and floral tributes arriving from friends and people whose lives were touched by Hollie.

The former Oaklands School pupil was the fourth child in the family – she had older sisters Quisha, 28, Jeven, 26 and Shana, 23 – and had completed a degree at Kent University to become an optician.

She was a manager at Specsavers optician in Shirley, where colleagues remembered her as someone who brought happiness, before becoming a locum optician for stores across the south.

The family have planned a funeral for relatives and close friends of Hollie at St Mary’s Church, St Mary Street, Southampton at 1pm on September 29, followed by a burial service at Hollybrook Cemetery.

All floral tributes and inquiries are being handled by Forbes Dennehy funeral directors in St Mary Street.

A post-mortem revealed Hollie died after injuries to her neck.

Earlier this week Daniel Gibbons, 21, appeared at Winchester Crown Court accused of murdering Hollie.

Gibbons, who previously shared Hollie’s maisonette in Taranto Court, Lordswood, was remanded in custody by Judge David Griffiths until a pre-trial hearing on December 19.
