Here is a timeline of events that led to the shooting of Mark Nunes and Andrew Markland and arrest of the robbery gang: April 28 2006: Two men wearing blue overalls rob a security guard of a cashbox containing £25,000 as he makes a delivery to the National Westminster Bank in Wells Road, Bristol.

May 23 2006: The gang escape with £165,000 after a guard is knocked to the ground, dragged to the rear of his van at gunpoint and pistol-whipped during a raid outside the Lloyds TSB at Fishponds, Lodge Causeway, Bristol.

October 5 2006: A G4S guard is struck over the head with a heavy object as two men grab a £25,000 cash box at an HSBC branch in Denmark Hill, south east London. Raid largely the work of Leon McKenzie.

November 8 2006: McKenzie and Leroy Hall responsible for robbery of a cash box containing £25,000 at the HSBC in Chipstead Valley Road, Coulsdon, Surrey.

November 28 2006: Another HSBC branch is targeted, this time in Banbury Road, Oxford, where a guard is knocked to the ground by a robber who runs off with an empty cash box.

December 8 2006: The National Westminster Bank in Wells Road, Bristol, is hit for the second time but as one of the robbers escapes, members of the public knock him to the ground causing him to drop the cash box.

December 12 2006: A security guard is grabbed around the neck from behind and a cash box containing £100-worth of traveller's cheques taken.

December 12 2006: Later the same day two men rob a guard of a £25,000 box at gunpoint at the HSBC in Cricklade Road, Swindon.

May 1 2007: Two robbers wrestle a female guard to the ground and steal a £20,000 delivery at the HSBC in School Road, Tilehurst, Reading.

June 12 2007: A guard is punched and kicked by two robbers during a struggle at the HSBC branch in Hucclecote Road, Gloucestershire. The cash box is dropped and the men escape empty-handed.

June 21 2007: A cash box containing £25,000 is grabbed after a guard is attacked by two men at the Lloyds TSB in Cherry Hinton, Cambridgeshire.

July 3 2007: Security guard Colin Frewer fights back, punching both masked robbers who stole his £25,000 cash box at the Lloyds TSB in St Christopher Road, Colchester. A gun was fired during the struggle but no one was hurt.

July 25 2007: Another £25,000 is stolen during a raid on a van at the Lloyds TSB in Moorland Road, Bath. Wallace was later identified by a member of the public as being the getaway driver.

August 2 2007: A robber escapes empty-handed after dropping a cash box as he runs away from a second raid at the Lloyds TSB in Cherry Hinton, Cambridgeshire.

August 7 2007: A female guard is rugby-tackled and another £25,000 grabbed during a delivery at the HSBC in Tilehurst, Reading.

August 28 2007: Three men in a stolen Audi A3 escape with £1,562 from a guard at Paperchase in Winchester, Hampshire. A Peugeot car containing Hall and McKenzie is later stopped by police in Brixton and both are arrested.

September 7 2007: A cash box containing £15,000 is stolen from a guard who has a gun put to his head at the Lloyds TSB in Nacton Road, Ipswich. The box, still containing the money, is found in an abandoned getaway car after police give chase.

September 13 2007: Mark Nunes and Andrew Markland are shot dead by a police marksman during a foiled raid at an HSBC branch in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire. Getaway driver Terence Wallace is later arrested at his home address in Raynes Park, south west London.

November 20 2007: Security guard Colin Frewer is targeted for the second time during another robbery at the Lloyds TSB in St Christopher Road, Colchester. Adrian Johnson carries out the raid - perhaps ''in memory'' of his close friend Nunes.

November 21 2007: Johnson is arrested at his home in Streatham Hill, south the following day and £8,800 in cash is found under his bed - his proceeds from the Colchester raid.

November 21 2007: On the same day Leroy Wilkinson and Victor Iniodu are arrested and Wallace re-arrested. All four are later charged with conspiracy to rob.
