SOUTHAMPTON TYRO U14S 2-2 WATERSIDE WANDERERS U15S

The Under 14s Representative squad opened their 2008/09 campaign with a tough fixture against Under 15s Division Three opposition, Waterside Wanderers.

In an excellent, well-played game of football, Waterside were the first team on the score sheet, with a well taken goal. The inform striker, strolled past stranded Tyro defenders, to put past Keeper Morant.

With twenty-five minutes on the clock, Tyro stepped the gear up and got more involved with in the game. Work later payed off as Tyro equalised. The outstanding crowd then witness Wilding strike the post with an impressive thirty-five yard shot, just hitting the bar.

The second half continued as the first half finished, and Tyro piled more and more pressure onto the Waterside based team. Tyro secured the second with excellent play from both wide players; Seager and Wiseman.

Late on, Waterside fast attacker broke to side poke the ball past the stranded second half keeper Thrussel.

With great enthusasim from the Tyro camp, they failed to score the winner - but placed several chances either on target and well saves or wide of the goal.

With this being Tyro's first match, signs of it being a great season were clearly seen.

Impressive performances from each individual were evident and clearly earned an impressive 2-2 draw against a side who are in Division Three - and a year up.
