POLICE have today charged a woman with murder after a man was shot twice in the chest as he lay in bed.
Helen Lawson, 61, of Wellow Top Road, Yarmouth, was charged by the constabulary's major crime department with murdering Geoffrey Lawson, also 61.
She has been remanded in custody after appearing before Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court today.
Mr Lawson's body was discovered at an address on Wellow Top Road at around 3.30am on Sunday. Police were called but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Next of kin and the Isle of Wight Coroner have been informed.
