HAMPSHIRE glamour girl Lucy Pinder’s mum jumped to the defence of her daughter last night after the model found out she was up for eviction form Celebrity Big Brother.
The 25-year-old from Winchester is one of three celebrities facing being kicked out the reality programme on Friday. Head of house Terry Christian also put Ulrika Jonsson and former boy band member Ben Adams up for the chop. Other housemates include singer La Toya Jackson and US rapper Coolio.
Lucy’s mum, Jenny Pinder, from Harestock, defended her daughter, saying: “There is a lot of prejudice. They are judging her purely on the job she does rather than the person she is.
“People find it strange because she is not an exhibitionist.
“She is a genuinely nice girl.
She is very much a Winchester girl.”
Mrs Pinder said Lucy would be disappointed if she was the first housemate to be evicted.
She said: “Before she went in Lucy said she didn’t have a hope in hell of winning but didn’t want to be first out because that would be humiliating.”
Lucy’s career in front of the camera started after she was spotted in a bikini on Bournemouth beach.
The former Westgate Secondary School and Peter Symonds pupil, who has 11 GCSEs and two A levels, was planning to go to the University of Winchester to study English literature and film when her modelling career took off.
Mrs Pinder, who has an older daughter Emily, described Lucy as a “home girl” who avoided celebrity parties.
Despite her success, Lucy still lives in Winchester – buying her first home around the corner from her parents’ house.
Mrs Pinder said: “There is a short life for a glamour model.
You can’t be a glamour model forever.”
