TV bosses say they have cleared the backlog of calls brought about by the digital switchover.

Hundreds of viewers across Hampshire were left staring at blank screens following a “reorganisation” of the digital signal.

Government agency Digital UK was flooded with complaints over lost channels and problem digital boxes. However, spokesman John Steele said the problems had now been ironed out.

He said: “There was a backlog to work through and we are still following up calls, but people with major problems were in the minority.”

Viewers had to retune their digital boxes after the transmitter mast at Fawley was switched off last Wednesday.
