A HAMPSHIRE woman died from an asbestos-related tumour, despite never having a high level of exposure to the deadly material, an inquest heard.

Southampton Coroner’s Court was told Lindsey Turner, 52, could have been at risk of inhaling the killer fibres during work for Union Castle and the NHS during the 1970s.

But the pathologist who examined her body after she died last December found no evidence she had been exposed to more than the normal levels associated with city life.

Coroner Keith Wiseman recorded a verdict of natural causes on Mrs Turner, of Rosewall Road, Southampton, whose death was caused by a mesotheliomic tumour in her lung.
