GOSPORT MP Sir Peter Viggers is to auction his notorious duck house for charity.
The £1,600 pond ornament was thrust into the spotlight after it was revealed Sir Viggers paid for it using the money he claimed on expenses.
Although the Stockholm duck house would normally only be expected to fetch a few hundred pounds if sold second-hand, there is a real possibility this particular one may go for far more for if collectors want something from the MPs' expenses scandal.
More than a dozen charities asked Sir Peter to donate the duck house.
He said: "I've replied to the dozen or so people that have enquired that my wife and I are minded, in due course, to sell the thing for charity.
"But in the present atmosphere we are letting the dust settle. We've had a lot of approaches and we aren't committing to this yet."
