A HAMPSHIRE man is preparing to pedal more than 1,000 miles in just 12 days.

Keith Diaper, from Hedge End, hopes to cycle to every English Premiership rugby and football stadium in England to raise money for a special needs school in Winchester.

Cycling an average of 84 miles a day, the 33-year-old engineer hopes his mammoth effort will kick start future fundraising events for Osborne School, where his wife Pippa works with youngsters suffering with physical and learning difficulties.

Keith said: “You only have to meet the children of Osborne School to know why I’m doing this cycle ride. As soon as you see them you are humbled. The pupils don’t complain about what life has dealt them.

“I don’t just want to raise funds for the school, I want to help put the school back on the map.”

Keith is due to set off tomorrow.
