HE might not be a pedigree chum, but this bit of woof could still fetch a national prize for being handsome.
Hampshire pet Alfie and owner Kirsten Peel are travelling to Earls Court in London this weekend to take part in Scruffts, the crossbreed version of Britain’s biggest dog show.
Alfie, who lives in Stockbridge, dazzled in the regional heats of the Scruffts competition and will take on 20 other pretty pooches to try and become Britain’s most handsome crossbreed.
There are four different categories at the competition, which is exclusively for mixed breed dogs, with winners of each category fighting for the Scruffts Family Dog of the Year award.
Celebrity judge Peter Purves will make the final call to decide whether Alfie makes it all the way to the Wendy Richards trophy.
The late EastEnders star was a big supporter of the competition.
