FAMILY and friends mourning Hampshire bomb disposal hero Olaf Schmid came together for his funeral at the cathedral where he was once head chorister.
Many mourners arrived in Truro, Cornwall, last night for today's funeral in the city's 19th century cathedral.
Performances by the cathedral choir featured in the order of service, led by the Dean of Truro, the Very Reverend Dr Christopher Hardwick.
Donations raised at the funeral will go to the British Limbless Ex-Service Men's Association (Blesma).
Staff Sgt Schmid, also known as Oz, was born in Truro, but lived in Harestock, Winchester, with his wife and stepson, Laird, five.
