Emergency helpline for city residents
SOUTHAMPTON City Council has set up an emergency helpline on 023 8023 3344 for those in “real distress” this weekend.
The phones will be manned from 9am to 4pm today, and 10am to 4am tomorrow.
The service is designed to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions by providing assistance to those not getting the basic care they need. Council bosses say it should only be called in desperate situations.
