The parish council's annual report and draft accounts were tabled and verbal reports were also given about the work of the village hall and village green committees and the two village charities.

Borough and ward councillors attended and spoke of current local issues.

Parishioners were again thanked for contributing to the village's success in the Village of the Year competition in 2004.

Groups seeking funding for projects were encouraged to approach the parish council by the autumn, when the precept for the following year will be considered.

FETE: The fete committee met on May 24 and the final plans need to be put in place.

Stallholders are invited to a meeting on Monday, at 7.30pm, in the Garden Room.
