FOR the first time in Southampton City Petanque Club's history, they now have two teams competing in the Southern Counties Petanque Association Six-a-Side Leagues.
The Pilgrims, competing in Division 3 and led by Jean Delavault, are sitting pretty in top spot with four wins from five games.
But for the Saints in Division 4, led by Peter Galton, the story is reversed. After five games, only one win has been recorded.
Saints' latest blow was a 5-0 defeat at home to Limesdown Marvels (Fareham), but on the same night the Pilgrims travelled to Owlesbury and recorded their fourth 4-1 victory of the season.
A squad day is being held in Southampton on June 19 to determine which juniors will represent the region in September's Inter-Regional Championships.
