HAYLING'S Mark Treleaven and South Winchester's Jon Barnes took full advantage of their early morning tee times to share first place in the Gales Brewery sponsored Hockley Golf Club Charity Pro-Am.

Both players completed three-under-par rounds of 68 and were back in the dry of the clubhouse when heavy afternoon rain made conditions almost impossible for the later starters.

Third place was shared by Romsey's James Pitcher and former Ladies Tour player Claire Duffy (Sandford Springs) with Richard Janes (Shanklin & Sandown), Kevin Saunders (Walhampton) and Scott Watson (Dummer) sharing fifth.

Scott Shibley (Army) led his team of Alastair MacDonald, Alan Green and Trevor Keenan to victory in the pro-am with a 12-under-par score of 130. Second place went to Eddie Rawlings' team of Craig Street, Dean Roles and Aaron Giles.

Other prize-winners included Mathew Dyke and Phil Goodwin.
