SOUTH Winchester's Jon Barnes defied gale force winds and driving rain to win the Cams Hall Estates Golf Club Pro-Am with an heroic three-under-par 68.
On a day when 75 was probably a more realistic par, Barnes compiled one of the rounds of the year to take victory in the Alan Day Honda and Taylor Made Computer Solutions sponsored tournament.
South Winchester players featured prominently on the leaderboard with the club's professional Richard Adams sharing second place on 71 with Lee-on-the-Solent's Rob Edwards.
Dummer's Scott Watson and his team of Malcolm Cake, Mike Cranswick and Tony Kingsley won the Pro-Am with a nine-under-par score of 133 on countback from Russell Tate's team of Barry Brooks, Tom Warden and Martin Adams.
