MORE actors are needed for a play based on a novel set in Hampshire.

Requiem for a Wren will be staged at Exbury Gardens, near Beaulieu, next month as part of the attraction's 50th anniversary celebrations.

The novel was written by Nevil Shute, who was

stationed at Exbury House during the Second World War, when it was known as HMS Mastodon.

Shute's story centres on a Wren who served at Exbury during the build-up to the D-Day landings in June 1944.

Part of the novel is based on a real-life incident involving a lone Junkers bomber that was shot down near Exbury House.

Anyone wishing to take part should ring Jenny and David Knowles on 023 8084 2190.
