COUNTY council elections: A quick update for those who may not yet know the results of last week's county council election for Hatch Warren and Beggarwood.

Sitting councillor Phil Heath was returned again for this area to serve for the next four years.

Phil is also a borough councillor for Hatch Warren.

HATCH Warren WI: The WI met last week at a member's house in Hatch Warren for its annual resolutions meeting.

The first part of the evening was spent discussing the two resolutions to be put forward, one on farmgate milk prices and one on recycling and waste.

The next meeting of the WI will be the birthday meeting on June 2 at the community centre.

Tickets need to be obtained for this, so contact Sandra Christie on 469224.

FASHION show: Dandelions Pre-School is holding a fashion event on Thursday, May 19, at St Mark's School, in Danebury Road, at 7pm.

Tickets cost £4, including a glass of wine or soft drink.

COMMUNITY centre improvements: The recent changes to the community centre have greatly improved the whole building and more upgrades are in the pipeline.

As well as the soundproofing and new kitchens, parts of the building have been re-painted and the old carpet replaced with new cleanable flooring.

Tables and chairs have been replaced and the disabled toilet facilities improved.

There is currently an application for CCTV pending for the building.

During half-term, it is hoped that the patio area will be improved, producing a better garden area for outside the conservatory.

CONGRATULATIONS: Hatch Warren resident Vince Butcher has now raised more than £2,000 in his first marathon for the Primary Biliary Cirrhosis Foundation.
