ELECTIONS: Congratulations to Sir George Young, who was once again elected to be our Member of Parliament and represent us all at Westminster.

Congratulations also to Marilyn Tucker, who was elected in a close-fought contest to represent Baughurst and Tadley on Hampshire County Council.

MEMORIAL service: The memorial service for my late husband, county councillor Don Allen, is to take place at 12.30pm on Friday, May 20, in Winchester Cathedral.

TUESDAY Club: Meets at Heath End Hall for a get-together for tea and home-made cakes next Tuesday, from 2pm to 4pm.

Various activities are arranged, including a raffle, but if you would like to go along just for a chat or perhaps take a friend, you will get a warm welcome.

ASHFORD Hill Primary School May fair: Will be held on Saturday, May 21, between 2pm and 5pm.

Attractions will hopefully include tractor trailer rides, a bouncy castle and many different stalls and sideshows, as well as dancing and music and a raffle with big prizes.

SILVER surfer: silversurfersday.org is to be held at The Hurst Community College on Friday, May 27, between 9am and 3pm.

The sessions are free and complimentary tea and coffee is available.
