SCOTTHALL Hampshire's record-breaking launch for the BMW Series has helped raised £1,200 for the Wessex Heartbeat charity.

More than 800 people flocked to the Rose Bowl for the event with many taking part in an auction to boost funds for the Wessex Cardiac Unit at Southampton General Hospital.

Items which went under the hammer included a shirt signed by Hampshire cricket captain Shane Warne and another signed by the rest of the team, hospitality for a premium Saints match next season and weekend loans of the high profile X5 and Z4 BMWs. Scotthall Hampshire sales manager Stuart Catterall said: "There was huge interest in the launch and we knew a lot of people would be there, so it seemed a good occasion to both organise an auction for Wessex Heartbeat and invite them to provide an information stand.

"The charity does excellent work and we were very pleased to be able to help.''
