KEVIN LATOUF'S unbeaten century was in vain as the Hampshire Academy failed to halt BAT Sports' runaway start to the season.

The Bishop's Waltham teenager carried his bat for 115, but BAT still coasted to a seven-wicket win to notch a third successive victory.

Latouf struck 18 boundaries in his unbeaten century, after having a cortisone injection in an injured wrist. The promising Young Hawks opener batted with ten different partners - Eddie Abel (20) and skipper Chris Benham (39) providing the only meaningful support.

Dan Goldstraw (4-36) took his Premier League aggregate wicket haul to 197 as the Academy tumbled from 166-4 to 212 all out.

BAT teenager Ricky Rawlins (52) released any initial grip the Academy youngsters had before being well caught on the boundary by Abel at 124-3.

James Hibberd, with an aggressive 81no, and David Banks (37no) took complete command with an unbroken boundary-strewn fourth-wicket partnership to see BAT home with eight balls to spare.

Rob Wade defied a painful back injury to hit 97 and drag champions South Wilts out of the mire against Hursley Park at Lower Bemerton. South Wilts were 34-3 when Wade began the repair work with Jason Laney (34). But it was the captain's fifth-wicket stand with Jon Chandler (55) which hoisted South Wilts to a 242-8.

"That total looked nothing like enough the way Hursley Park began their reply," Wade confessed.

Adrian Small (45) and Paul Marks (42) put on 74 before they were hit a three-wicket burst from Lysander Wolf.

Hursley lost their way, reaching 182 - the tail falling away to the off-spin of Laney (3-38).

Domiciled South African Will Prozesky and Western Australian pace bowler Michael Thistle produced key performances in Havant's 32-run win at Andover.

Prozesky top scored with 63 as Havant posted 188-8, Matt Cox (25) hitting crucial runs.

Mark Miller (3-43) and, in particular, off-spinner Matt Hooper (3-19) - who made significant inroads into the Havant top order - took the bowling credits for Andover.

Miller (42) rediscovered some of last season's form in guiding Andover from 35-3 to 98-4.

Cillie van der Merwe (38) gave him initial help, but Andover's middle-order gave way against the Havant spin attack - Thistle finishing with a best yet 4-29.

The Bashley (Rydal)-Liphook & Ripsley match was postponed after morning rain.
