A PAIR of magnificent shire horses were on show at the Town Mills pub in Andover on Sunday to help celebrate VE Day.
The Wadworth Brewery shire horse team proved to be a popular feature of the celebrations at the pub, which also included a barbecue and children's entertainment.
And as part of their first anniversary celebrations, pub landlord and landlady Pete and Sue Richards will be staging a tug-of-war competition.
It is hoped to have at least 18 teams for the sponsored event, which is due to happen on 29 May from 2.30pm.
Some interest has already been shown, but more teams are needed to make the event a huge success for the pub and for Andover Brave Hearts, the charity Pete and Sue are supporting. The most recent event they staged, the Town Mills duck race, raised £530 for Brave Hearts.
