HAMPTWORTH Golf and Country Club is launching a new Ladies Masters Golf class on May 8 to introduce more women to the game.

PGA professional Katie Dawkins will be running the six-week course, which teaches basic golfing skills to get more women hitting balls and sinking putts. The course will also cover pilates, nutrition and the mind.

"Golf is a great way to get fit and provides an active social life. This course will not only introduce women to a great game but will offer a new lifestyle choice as well", says Katie. Phil Stevens, Hamptworth's Director is pleased that there is a demand for such a course. "Past starter schemes for women golfers have always been successful," he said.

"Due to such a large response from these we have developed this new course and hope to attract more lady golfers to Hamptworth."

"Golf is losing its image as a men's game. This session is designed for ladies who want to have a go at golf. We want to attract ladies and young women from aged 16 upwards, and there is no upper age limit. We hope to inspire women, and give them confidence, to go play their first round of golf", adds Katie.

Hamptworth Golf Club is located near Landford, off the A36 between Romsey and Salisbury. The quiet and peaceful course winds through 150-year-old forest with mature trees and copses, providing the ideal setting to learn golf.

The course costs £95 and includes six 1 hour lessons, refreshments and a LMG folder to track your progress.

The first session will run between 9.30am and 11am on Sunday May 8. There's a maximum of eight places available, to ensure individual attention can be given, so places will be snapped up fast.
