BAT boss Andy Leader managed the Totton-based club for the last time on Saturday before leaving to take up the managerial reins at Wessex rivals Christchurch.

"Whilst I'm looking forward to the new challenge at Christchurch, I do leave BAT with a heavy heart," reflected Leader, who has been at Southern Gardens for almost five years.

"This is a fantastic football club. I've had five great seasons here and my players have been magnificent. We had 26 points on Boxing Day and we've finished with 63 so it's been an amazing second half to the season.

"It's been a wonderful time and I've made many friends but it's all about timing and this is the right time for a fresh challenge.

"I'm going to Christchurch which is ten minutes down the road from my house. They are getting their dressing rooms up to Conference standard and the pitch is one of the best in the Wessex League," added Leader.
