THE fianc of a young Hampshire teacher who died after she suffered an epileptic fit has paid tribute to her sense of fun and dedication to her job.

David Molyneaux, 28, told the Daily Echo he was still "numb" from the shock of losing Faye Wrigglesworth, pictured, 23, who collapsed and died at the couple's home in Shirley, Southampton.

Mr Molyneaux found Miss Wrigglesworth's body slumped in the bathroom of their flat.

She had suffered a fit and stopped breathing after banging her head on a washbasin.

The couple had been engaged just three months and had planned to marry in 2007.

Mr Molyneaux, an administrative assistant for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: "She was very open and honest. She had a very strong sense of humour which was surreal. We had a lot of fantastic times. I have never known anyone like her. We were so lucky."

He said that Faye had always wanted to be a teacher and had been "dedicated" to her new job at Romsey Junior School, which she began in September last year after completing her post-graduate teaching qualification at Southampton University.

He said: "She always wanted to be a teacher and she did it so well. She was completely dedicated. She loved kids and the kids absolutely loved her."

Dave Simpson, head teacher of Romsey Junior School, said: "Faye showed all the signs of being a top-class teacher in the future.

"She was very bubbly and full of life. Faye had a great sense of humour, she was very kind and the children really did love her.

"They have been very upset by this and the mood in the school is very sombre.

"The staff are also very upset. There are only eight teaching staff, and about 20 people work here all together, so it is a close-knit team.

"We closed the school on the afternoon of her funeral and many children, parents and staff went along. It was very sad."

He added that the school was planning to hold a memorial service later on in the year, which would be a celebration of Faye's work at Romsey Junior School.

More than 130 mourners attended her funeral in Southampton.
