ANDOVER police are hunting three robbers who attacked a 45-year old man as he walked through the underpass between River Way and Cricketers Way at about 11.30pm on Friday.

The victim was approached by the three with one of them asking him for the time. As he checked his watch he was pushed hard by the same man, causing him to bang his head on the underpass wall before falling to the ground.

The attacker removed the victim's wristwatch - a Brietling chrono colt quartz aviators watch with rotating bevel and an analogue face inset with three smaller dials.

Both watch face and strap are made of white metal and valued at £1,200. The serial number is 694150. A total of £15 was also stolen from the man's wallet.

While the victim was still lying on the ground another man walked past without saying anything. The police would particularly like to speak to this potential witness, or anyone else who may have seen the attack.

The first attacker is described as being white, aged in his early 20s, about 6ft tall with medium build. He had collar length, straight black hair and a black goatee beard. He had angular features with a slightly pointed chin. He was wearing black trousers, jumper and a leather-look jacket. He had a local accent and was smoking a cigarette.

The second is described as being white, aged 16-18, 5ft 4ins to 5ft 6ins tall with a slim build.

He was clean shaven with short, dark hair shaved to grade one at the sides and grade two on top. He was wearing a white padded jacket and shiny black shell-style trousers. The third man is also described a being white, aged 16-18, 5ft 4ins to 5ft 6ins tall, with a slim build.

He too was clean shaven and was wearing a white padded jacket and dark trousers.
