MEMBERS of a barbershop choir are to sing their hearts out throughout 2005 to raise money for a Lymington charity.

Ocean Harmony, a New Forest and Southampton based male singing group, has chosen Oakhaven Hospice Trust as their "charity for the year".

They will support the hospice by singing at a number of the charity's fundraising events and plan to stage a concert later in the year with a donation from the proceeds going to Oakhaven.

Estelle Drew-Wills, Oakhaven's events fundraiser, said: "We are delighted that Ocean Harmony has decided to support Oakhaven during this busy year for the charity.

"Already we have identified opportunities for the close harmony group to sing at events in our fundraising calendar and anticipate a successful year.

Ocean Harmony chorus draws singers from the New Forest and Southampton areas and rehearses every Wednesday evening at the Colbury Memorial Hall, near Totton.

Ocean Harmony sings four-part harmony using a mixture of material from traditional barbershop to more modern music from the world of acappella.
