REVISED plans for the proposed refurbishment of the Hampshire police headquarters will go back before planning chiefs next week.

The plans have been revised after they were rejected two years ago with main changes including less floor space, attaching a three-storey building to the side of the current block, and toning down the glass-cladding which sparked much of the controversy.

However, despite the changes, officers on Winchester City Council's Planning and Development Control Panel are still recommending the scheme be rejected on the grounds that it will dominate the skyline. A decision is expected on Wednesday.
