Romsey schoolboy Jordan Rippon has hopes of becoming an Olympic diver one day.

But he has already worn a coveted Olympic silver medal! He did so last weekend when he met up with Southampton's Pete Waterfield, who won the medal last summer in Athens.

The pair met at the Southampton Diving Academy awards ceremony.

Jordan, who's 12, is a pupil at the Romsey School and had already won the Southampton Schools Diving Championships for 10-11 year old boys.

Last November, Jordan won the 10-12 yr old boys Academy Championship in the Novice Class.

He was presented with the award on Saturday and also won Best Newcomer 2004 in the Southampton Diving Academy. The trophies were presented to him by Lindsey Fraser, Pete Waterfield's coach at the Olympics.

Jordan has been invited to join the Academy in June.

He presently trains three days a week there and will now compete at county level events before qualifying for the National Championships in Plymouth in May.
