THE Buzzcocks are such legends that it's almost impossible to believe that they are not only still going strong but are on tour and coming to a venue near you very soon.

The band had several hits in the late 70s but will always be best known for Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've), which still sounds as fresh as they day it was first recorded.

The band from Manchester, which is still fronted by Pete Shelley and Steve Diggle along with Tony Barber and Phil Baker, have recently been in the studio recording tracks for their new album which is set for release next year.

Buzzcocks, along with the Sex Pistols and The Clash, played a central role in the British punk explosion of the late 70s, setting the benchmark for everything that was to follow.

Trailblazers of the independent record scene, their seminal self-financed EP Spiral Scratch saw them forge an instant relationship with the record-buying public.

The band split in 1981 and throughout the 80s there were numerous rumours that they were about to reform, which finally came true in 1989 when they reformed for a world tour.

Buzzcocks will be supported by Neville Staple, formerly of Specials and Fun Boy Three.
