Joshua Hartley is to be allowed home from hospital this weekend - but has to go back on Monday for a minor operation.

The 12-year-old was taken to Southampton General Hospital with stomach problems and mild Graft Versus Host Disease (GVHD) following his bone marrow transplant in June.

But his temperature has gone down, his GVHD rash is very mild and his stomach bug seems better, according to dad David.

"On Monday he will have a small operation to reinsert his Hickman line, which draws back blood, but it is hoped that Joshua will come home for large parts of this weekend," he added.
