NICK JENNINGS was only three when blond pin-up star Paul Hunter turned professional - but on November 6 the pair will meet on level terms in an exhibition match at Chandler's Ford Snooker Club.

The world number three will travel down the M1 from Leeds to play the "Otter Potter" and nine other juniors from the Southampton area - who have paid £200 each for the honour - on Table One, once graced by world champions Steve Davis and John Parrott, in front of a capacity 120 crowd.

Most of the ten lads were in action in week 16 of the Under-21 Roll-Up which was won by Alex Dunkley, who had the day's best break of 65. The 16-year-old swaps places at the top with Lee O'Brien after a final win over Billy Castle, 12. The Marchwood potter moves up to the £80 fifth spot.

Arran Newman, 14, another due to play Hunter, warmed up for his debut in the Winchester Premier League by pushing Dunkley to five frames in the second round.

Marco Cavagnetto is sixth after the plate final win over Jack Hyom and Jason Hildyard leapfrogs brother Dan into third. The ever-consistent Pete Maraziotis stays seventh with only four weeks to go.

Jennings and Matthew Woods will be pitting their wits against some of the top young snooker talent around after winning through to tomorrow's National Qualifier event at the Chandler's Ford club.

The 13-year-olds triumphed in the second qualifier, with Jennings winning both his group matches 3-0.

Will Baird won 3-0 and 2-1 to win group two, Hyom had to play a sudden death play-off to go through in group three, while Woods had wins of 2-1 against each opponent to reach the last four.

The four group winners then played each other, with Jennings winning all his games 2- 0 with breaks of 60, 38 and 34 as Baird and Hyom managed one frame each in both losing 2-1 to Woods.
