THE extraordinary acappella of Naked Voices comes to The Corn Exchange, Newbury, this month.

Naked Voices arrange and perform songs from the greatest hits of soul, pop, gospel and classical music, using only the human voice.

Their repertoire ranges from the sweet soul of Joni Mitchell and Nina Simone to the jagged grooves of Portishead and ELO, haunting Bulgarian folk, TV tunes, The Beatles, Bach and the blues, set to unusual choreography and lighting.

Featured on BBC2 last year, this Edinburgh and Prague Fringe Festival award-winner is bound to delight and entertain people of all ages with a range of musical likes and dislikes.

On Thursday, September 16, the Naked Voices gang (pictured above) will lead an uplifting and fun workshop in the art of harmony singing at New Greenham Arts in Newbury, at 7.30pm.

Participants will then be invited to join the group on stage during the performance at The Corn Exchange, at 7.45pm on Friday, September 17, to take part in a performance of the songs they have learnt.

To buy tickets, priced £12 (£9 discounts, £21 for show and workshop), contact The Corn Exchange box office on 01635 522733 or book online at www.cornexchangenew.com
