BAT brought Brockenhurst's FA Cup heroes crashing back to earth with a 1-0 victory at Southern Gardens last night, making it five games undefeated for the Tobaccomen.

Just three days after their heroic preliminary round win at Burgess Hill Town, Brock were sunk by a Richard Gregory goal with a quarter of an hour remaining.

Gregory had also hit the post in the first half and BAT boss Andy Leader is delighted that, after a slow start to the season, the teenage marksman is clicking into gear.

He said: "It was Richard's first goal of the season and no one deserved it more than he did. He's been magnificent in the last couple of games, but things hadn't been running for him. Make no mistake, he'll go on and score lots now."

Leader added: "It was a good, solid display by us - arguably our best performance of the season. "

Brock boss Graham Kemp had a slightly different take on proceedings. He said: "On the whole the game was poor. Neither team was up to much. It's disappointing after Saturday's win, but football's a funny, old thing - it builds you up and then knocks you down again."
