Sir.-On behalf of the Basingstoke and District branch of the Alzheimer's Society, I should like to thank all those who contributed to the success of our Awareness Week collections.
Thanks goes to the generous people who put money in our tins and the Friends of the branch who gave their time to help collect.
The three collections - in Basingstoke town centre, at Asda in Brighton Hill and at Sainsbury's in Tadley - raised a total of £834.18, which will be used to help support people with dementia and their carers in our area.
