PAWS 'n' More is a service for pets and pet owners.

People who are busy or going on holiday will be pleased to hear about the reliable and friendly service provided by an experienced member of NARP (National Association of Registered Pet sitters) and TRIPAD (The Register of Insured Pet sitters and Dog walkers).

Babs Foster provides the service in Brighton Hill, which includes dog walking and visiting pets in their homes, for example, cats who need to be fed, given water and let out.

Dogs can also be visited as well as guinea pigs, hamsters and rabbits.

Babs also provides a pet taxi service with a fitted, caged van. She takes dogs to be groomed by taxi - a service that is carried out regularly.

Babs started the service in February and has met some very nice dogs.

August is a time when the service is needed most because many people go on holiday. Also, if owners work long hours or have to be away on business, Babs will walk, let out and feed as necessary.

Paws 'n' More sounds a useful service for pet owners. I can understand how helpful it must be to know someone who lives near, has transport and who would look after a pet for owners who sometimes have to be away from home.

PATIENT forums: In spite of rumours, I understood, from attending a meeting locally, that patient forums will continue.

Some changes to the arrangements for patient and public involvement in health are being discussed at present, but patient forums will still be needed.

When I have more information about what is planned, I will pass on the news.
